According to Brian Mahoney, AP Basketball Writer, the New York Knicks will hire Long-time Indiana headman, Donnie Walsh as President of Basketball Operations on Wednesday. The press conference will be held at 1pm this afternoon. I knew that James Dolan had a plan to save the Knicks and save Isiah Thomas' job. He has relieved Isiah of his presidential Knicks duties, but not his coaching duties. According to James Dolan, "Isiah Thomas put the team together with these players, so he should coach them." Dolan said something to that effect. By hiring Walsh, everyone wins including Isiah because as I said in one of my previous posts on this topic, Walsh was the person who gave Thomas his first coaching job, so in this situation, the master is here to rescue his pupil (Isiah Thomas). This is the best thing that could ever happened to Isiah. He obviously failed as a General Manager and didn't get fired. He nevertheless was relieved of his duties very softly by his boy James Dolan. I must say the only thing that Thomas seems to excel in is choosing good draft picks. It will be in his best interest to remove himself from coaching the Knicks and assume the role of player recruitment. In doing this, he would avoid from humiliating himself for another year of coaching. Let Hurb Williams be the coach of the Knicks; he is obviously a better coach than Isiah. When he was coaching the Knicks as an interim coach, the Knicks were always in every game, although they usually end up losing by 2 points. Please click here for more on this story!
