In an Associated Press Report by Terence Hunt, a white house Correspondent, the President of the United States, George W. Bush, has confronted China's President Hu Jintao on Wednesday about Beijing's malicious crackdown in Tibet. The US President has strongly spoken to President Hu by telephone. According to Hunt, President Bush was very firm and frank in his talk with the Chinese President. It appears here that President Hu doesn't want any trouble with Tibet or with any other country. The article states that he just doesn't want Tibet demonstrators to continue committing violent crimes in the streets of Tibet, and he also doesn't want them to keep trying to break away from China. In other words, Hu doesn't want Tibetans to fight for independence from China. In fact, as far as he is concerned, Tibet is a part of China, so he doesn't see the need for it to be independent. I guess it would be the same as saying, "New Yorkers should be independent because they have a twang in their dialect." Whatever the reasons for this unrest or conflict, both China and Tibet should hurry-up and resolve their differences because I am ready for the Olympics.
