According to the Associated Press (AP), Rock Group Smashing Pumpkins is suing Virgin Records for using their image in a Pepsi Commercial with Amazon.com and Pepsi Co. The group said they only granted Virgin Records the right to sell downloads of their music and never gave the record label the right to use their image in a commercial; so the band is suing the Record Company for profits made by running the advertisement and also is vying to create an injunction that would prevent Virgin Records from repeating this infraction again.
